Spring has arrived!

Spring has arrived along with Daylight saving. The extra hours are certainly the campers best friend!

Since my first newsletter, the winter months have been busy with enquiries and sales.

Julie and I have recently returned from a visit to the UK with a visit to the Swift factory. This included a tour through the factory to see how their caravans are made and assembled. This was very enlightening as to the manufacture of our Swift caravans. From the raw materials right through to the finished product.
Some facts about Swift – they employ just on 2,000 staff and this facility covered 106 acres. We were extremely impressed with the professionalism of the operation. Swift caravans are the market leaders in the UK and Europe for volume. Another big volume for Swift are their small homes (known as statics). This is a very big growth area in the UK for holiday homes and small home living. In the future this could be a solution to our current housing crisis.
Basecamp caravan
Whilst at Swift we viewed a new product that excited me which was the Swift Basecamp.  As a keen mountain biker and a lover of the outdoors, this small versatile caravan captured me enough to order some for our market. We will also be stocking the awning for this caravan creating another room. Check out this link and have a look at this model. You can even put the bikes inside!  Any questions on this please do not hesitate to contact me. This is arriving soon!
We have a very busy time ahead as we are attending the Marlborough A & P show on the 8th and 9th of November, and a week later the Rotary Nelson Motorhome Show. Here we will be displaying a range of our 2020 caravan arrivals. Hopefully the Basecamp will have arrived as well. We look forward to seeing you.

If you have any content you would like covered in future communications please email us and I will review and look at your requests.

Happy travels!
Regards, Vern, Julie and Matt
Nelson Caravans

For those of you that have had your caravan packed up for the winter, it is now time to take some basic steps to make sure your camping goes without any hiccups:

►  Make sure all certificates are current i.e. the WOF, self-containment certification, and electrical WOFs
►  It is also very important to check the water levels in your battery and ensure they are charged.  This may save you some embarrassment on your first expedition of the summer!
►  If you have winterized your caravan ensure all the water valves are back to their normal positions
►  Another good idea is also, where possible, to hook up your water and power and run the set up operations to make sure you don’t have any fault codes on your fridge and heater controls

Call in anytime. We are open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm, and Saturday 11.00am to 2.00pm.  We look forward to seeing you.
